First, what does Sojourn do with children on Sunday mornings?

We have classes for Sojournkids. These classes range from babies through 5th graders. We use a curriculum called Children Desiring God. The philosophy of the curriculum is to show that God is the hero of life and of every biblical story. You can check out more information at www.childrendesiringgod.org. Second, what does it mean to disciple children and be a biblical, missional parent?

The goal of parenting is to produce courageous Christ-followers who love God, love His people, love His mission and love His creation. This is an extremely challenging task. Here are a few scriptures to think upon:

Speaking as parents who have now raised our 3 children to productive, happy & fulfilled adults faithfully following Christ and who wisely chose godly spouses, Debbie and I see much sound wisdom in this counsel. This reflects a good deal of our own personal experience.

On my drive to work this morning I was behind a woman who was continually distracted from her primary job at the moment: safely driving her and her kids wherever she was going. At different times she was putting on makeup, eating, drinking, answering the cell phone and apparently yelling at her kids. I see lots of such foolish people on the road everyday. Sometimes the distraction is tragically fatal. I remember last year when a woman pulled out in traffic while on the cell phone and never saw the truck coming that killed her and her baby.
