I have been meditating on this and find it somewhat convicting. Wendy and I have already begun spending this money (in our minds) before it is even in the bank. This got me thinking about 1 Cor.10:31. See Below…

For a moment, forget the political puzzle of getting money back when the country is nine trillion dollars in debt. The more immediate question is: How will you make much of Christ with your “economic stimulus payment”? The president says it will be in the mail in time for Cinco de Mayo.

What Do Tragedies Like This Mean for Us?

At about 6 PM tonight the bridge of Interstate 35W over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis collapsed. I am writing this about three hours after the bridge fell. The bridge is located within sight of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Most of us who minister at the church cross this bridge several times a week. At this point I don’t know if any staff was on the bridge. Desiring God offices are about a mile from the bridge.

On Tuesday, 06Mar07, John Piper’s father entered eternity with his Father, Savior and the Holy Spirit. I consider John Piper an adjunct prof to Sojourn Church. Be happy for his dad. Pray for John and his family as they enter the grieving process.
