This past week Jeff and I went to Northern California for a “babymoon” vacation. We were absolutely amazed by the beauty of the coast with it’s cliffs and crashing waves and rolling green hills leading inland. We were constantly stopping to take pictures hoping to somehow capture the moment and majesty in our little memory card. We saw the perfect sunset. The colors filling the horizon, the little burnt orange ball fading out of sight– God’s brush strokes of beauty at the end of the day. We drove back to where were staying in the dark and the rain, just pondering what we had seen, utterly content that God had amazed us with His creation.

Check out the following video. Salt is poured on a vibrating table. At certain frequencies the salt gathers into interesting patterns. Someone should take some of the shots and Photoshop them. Would make some good art.
God is the author of math, physics, art, and beauty. It should not surprise us to see the beauty within each of these disciplines. Further, it is amazing when those fields overlap.
If you search Youtube for cymatics you come up with some other interesting films. Cornstarch and water is another good medium.

Check this stunning picture out. You’re looking at the Sombrero galaxy, 28 million light years from Earth.
This galaxy is an estimated 82,000 light years in diameter. Think about that. It would take light some 82,000 years to traverse from one edge of this galaxy to the other. The glowing central bulge harbors an estimated nearly 2,000 globular clusters of stars.
