Read the below information and pray for God’s provision, protection and presence. The needs are overwhelming and time sensitive. The author is anonymous as well as the mission agency and location. Please do not speculate about the location online. This for the safety of the team and for the Christian nationals there. Perhaps the author can ghost-write a blog through me after returning.

It is vital that the visas are approved so the team can enter the country. Pray for them as they LIVE the gospel through compassion and aid. Secondly, pray for Spirit-led appointments to TELL the gospel:

Google is showing compassion for the homeless in San Fran. I will post the article in its entirety in case the link goes down. I was particularly touched to hear about family or friends leaving encouraging messages. That is one step away from isolation and towards community. May they all seek/find Christ. He is the conclusion to their story.

“SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Google has made an announcement that could help hundreds of homeless people in San Francisco get back on their feet.

Every single homeless person in the city will be given a life-long phone number and voicemail, should they choose to accept it, NBC11’s Lisa Bernard said.

Google is partnering with San Francisco to provide the service to homeless individuals and to shelters and agencies so they can distribute the numbers to their clients.

The announcement was made at a Project Homeless Connect event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium Wednesday.

Lee High School Bus Crash22Nov

Most locals and Americans have heard about the bus crash involving around 41 students from Lee High School here in Huntsville. Four young ladies have died since the Monday accident: Christine Collier, Nicole Ford, Tanesha Hill and Crystal McCrary. Funerals for two of the students will be Friday and Saturday (24,25Nov). Continue to pray for the familes. Also, there are still over a dozen students hospitalized. More information can be found at www.waff.com.

Feelings of grief are now mixed with anger. There may be members of Westboro Baptist Church from Topeka, Kansas protesting at the funerals. These are the “christians” that have protested other funerals with signs such as, “God hates fags” and “Thank God for dead soldiers.” My blood boils at the thought…

CASA Day, 2006

On Saturday, 04Nov, at team of Sojourners winterized two homes in New Market. We volunteered through the CASA organization - Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound of Madison County. Their purpose is to assist elderly men and women in remaining in their own homes. This particular project is called CASA TEMP$ (temps). Homes across our region arewinterized. This can include:

- installing plastic over windows
- replacing batteries in smoke detectors
- insulating outside water faucets
- installing storm doors

We served two different elderly ladies. One of these ladies, Ms. Bessie, is 93 years young. She was quite a hoot! She kept asking, “Do you want to live to be 93 like me?” She also asked me more than once if I had been baptized.
