We had a blast and definitely want to go back soon. The Grand Canyon flyover/ATV ride/Ranch was amazing and I wanted to do it again the next day.
I couldn’t help but wonder how long it took the create the Grand Canyon. Was it created by a global flood as described in many religious texts? Was is created by a massive volcano and lava flows? Was it created over millions and millions of years of erosion by the wind and water. I wondered if the obvious answer was the right answer.

How to define Christian Hedonism
More:
On death:
Read, pray and meditate upon Philippians 1:18-23

Do you know the way to the Promised Land?23Sep
So far this post has 0 comments.I don’t know about you, but I look upon our work in setup on Saturday and tear down on Sunday as part of a process of preparation for the future – similar to the process the Israelites experienced in leaving Egypt. The Israelites came out of Egypt being a band of slaves who were used to having their daily needs provided for them by their masters. Despite the fact that the Promised Land was just a few short days away, it took the process of living in the desert and learning to move as God’s presence moved Exodus 40:36-38 to forge them into a nation that could posses the land that God had prepared for them.

We go further in our studies, dialogue and prayer tonight. We are centered in Genesis. Read Genesis 5-9 in preparation for tonight.
The films we will watch will be about Noah and the Flood:
* Was the flood global or local?
* What does science tell us about the flood?
TIME: 7-9pm

Be on time, we have a lot of ground to cover.
You are a missionary. BE missional!

Who do you read?06Jul
So far this post has 4 comments. This is a question that some have asked. It is a great question because who you read determines how you think. I believe the leadership addage: “Leaders are readers and readers are leaders.” Later I will give a more detailed reading list. For now, here is the short list of who I am currently reading/watching/listening to:
Ancient:
- Jesus: (don’t miss His stuff!)
Contemporary:
- Mark Driscoll: Radical Reformission (I consider this a primer for new Sojourners)
- John Piper - God is the Gospel (his most important work is Desiring God: Confessions of a Christian Hedonist)
- Tim Keller - multiple teachings
- Erwin McManus: The Barbarian Way (buy it!)
