For any of you who have never done this before it is really fun and really messy. Feel free to bring a friend. Please let me know if you plan on coming (and if you plan to bring a friend) so we will have the right number of houses, although we will have plenty of extras for those that aren’t able to respond. As I write this it is Wednesday morning, the day after the historic election where we selected Barak Obama as our president. I know, I know politics is a dangerous subject here but trust me. This is not an article about politics. See, some of you no doubt were celebrating last night that your guy won and change is coming. Whereas some of you are downright depressed about it because your guy didn’t win and…well, change is coming.
I was reminded in the most dramatic of ways this morning of who is really in charge. Have you observed the leaves on the trees lately? They are absolutely breathtaking. There is nothing on earth that man has made that compares. No building, no monument, no structure that even comes close to the changing leaves in the fall. Let me tell you something. My God is in control. Yes this is another one of those dang religious articles.

They traveled to Ethiopia last month to adopt their new 10 year old son Minte. Cyndi is a faithful blogger so I feel like I have been going through the adoption process with her. Their spiritual, emotional, and physical journey to bring him home has been absolutely precious to watch. Here is her story of going through the citizenship process for her new son.

This weekend is the FREE Monte Sano Art Show! Over 150 visual artists will exhibit their work at Monte Sano State Park and give opportunity to purchase the art as well. When you visit, don’t forget to look for Jeff White’s booth where he’ll feature some of his excellent photography!
The show will open to the public at 9 a.m. and will also feature great festival food and four musical groups, including the ever-popular Rhythm For the Savage Masses percussionists, who will perform from 3 p.m. until close.
Please plan to visit the show and when you are finished browsing the art booths hike the beautiful Land Trust trails surrounding the state park.

So far this post has 2 comments.So I had a little teary breakdown in the dressing room at Ann Taylor the other night. It doesn’t happen often and I only allowed it 10 minutes but it got me to thinking about the concept of beauty. The first Bible verse I memorized as an adult mentions beauty. It was Proverbs 31:30. The verse states: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” What women do I think are worthy of praise?

So far this post has 0 comments.I’ve been thinking about doubt a lot lately. It all started with a friend who teaches an adult Sunday School class in a church a few towns over. Recently in his class he mentioned that sometimes he has fleeting doubts about things in scripture. When these doubts cross his mind he goes back to the Bible, spends some time in scripture and prayer and eventually he can move on. To say this did not go over well in his class would be an understatement. In fact, it caused a mutiny. Several very vocal members insisted this was sin!

By receiving this e-mail, (or hearing about it from someone else), you are hereby invited to attend a Super Bowl Party at the Claunch’s Sunday evening!! Show up around 4:30 - 5:00 and bring something to eat - preferabbly hor dourves and we can all share off each other’s. Linda loaded our car with drinks so we have a lot of those, but bring additional as you feel led.
We will have a big TV set up in the den, and other areas for people who want to socialize or a backyard for kids to play in.
