Do you know the way to the Promised Land?

written by edwardsa on 23 Sep.

I don’t know about you, but I look upon our work in setup on Saturday and tear down on Sunday as part of a process of preparation for the future – similar to the process the Israelites experienced in leaving Egypt. The Israelites came out of Egypt being a band of slaves who were used to having their daily needs provided for them by their masters. Despite the fact that the Promised Land was just a few short days away, it took the process of living in the desert and learning to move as God’s presence moved Exodus 40:36-38 to forge them into a nation that could posses the land that God had prepared for them.

I look at our setup and tear down time as part of the process of building community, giving myself and fellow Sojourners an opportunity to work together for a common objective and to learn about one another.

How do you see this time in the life of our fledgling community?
