I was amazed when I saw these pictures and read the story of a newly discovered indigenous tribe on the Peru/Brazil border that has not been contacted by civilization. Reports say that there are about 100 uncontacted tribes in the world and half of them are in the Brazil/Peru area. Silly me. I assume that Man has explored the entire world.
What a sight it must have been to see a low flying object zipping across the canopy of their land; the men aiming their weapons.

If you and I were to meet these people, there’s a good chance that we could introduce devestrating sickness to these people. But, what if we could interact with them. How could we share Christ with them? And what could this tribe teach us about reaching “tribes” in our life here in Huntsville?

wow, i never knew of this.
wow, i never knew of this. Thanks for sharing EA. Christ speaks of these people, that until the Word is preached to them, the end will remain in wait. I suppose by preaching to the nations we are hastening the end of the age.

That’s wow indeed. Tribes
That’s wow indeed. Tribes like this must have seen signs of other intelligent life, such as high altitude aircraft and things like that before, even if nobody ever saw them before or skimmed their tree canopy. Interesting how some of the folks are just looking, other are weaponized, and others aren’t even paying attention.

Why we want to introduce
Why we want to introduce Religion in their life ? We dont want them to become like we are .. We dont want them to be occupier/Greedy of Oil and money
@Frank: Who said anything
@Frank: Who said anything about introducing Religion to them? For that matter, who said anything about spreading our culture and government into their tribe?
For what it’s worth, I really think they’d get a kick out of Funyuns™®. Those things should be shared with all people.

How about orange soda? Ever
How about orange soda? Ever seen “Joe Versus the Volcano?”
@Frank: I certainly do not
@Frank: I certainly do not want to introduce religion or western culture to these folks. Western culture is not inherently evil, but it would not be helpful to them. Religion, on the other hand, is based upon the following thought, “I must do good to be accepted by God/god/gods.” This is a spiritual bear trap because none of us are good enough to earn the favor of God.
On the other hand I would love to tell the story of Jesus Christ. He is God who became man to bridge the gap between God and man. He was perfect though He died in our place and took the judgment we would take if we do not place all our faith in Him. This is the antithesis of religion. This says, “I am accepted, therefore I can do good” versus the former statement. These folks deserve to hear about this God-man Jesus just like every other tribe on our planet.

From Frank:
Agreed! If any religious people point to themselves it’s arrogance and pride. But point to Jesus, and then you’ve got yourself something to look at!

share Christ with
share Christ with them?
chances are good they already live it and could teach you a thing or two!
and maybe Jesus was a MAN who taught Christ is a level of consciousness that you, too, can atain….
maybe you, too, are the son of God…
The point…why do you assume theyneed to know your twisted veiw of Christianity???
give us a break!
tracy, Some people do not
tracy,
Some people do not buy into the deity of Jesus Christ or the reliability of the bible. We do. It is a strange story. It seems like foolishness to atheists, agnostics and some spiritual people. It is offensive to those who follow a different faith/religion. This has been true since a few years after Jesus’ death and resurrection. Check out the following historical record. It is from a letter from Paul to the Christians in Corinth:
1 Co 1:18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Here is my question for you. Do you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? If He did not, who cares? Live and let live. However, if He did, it changes everything. If He did then what He says about life is extremely relevant.
The biblical Jesus is relevant to the above tribe as well as the tribes of physicists, students, business owners, homeless, insert-your-own-tribe-here, and all others. Peace.
