Sojourn Church is honored to assist several other Acts 29 church plants. Pray for us as we continue to assess, coach and financially support other church-planting churches.

We currently support:
Branch Life (Birmingham) http://branchlifechurch.com
LifePoint Church (Dallas) http://www.lifepointdallas.com
Axis Church (Nashville) http://www.theaxischurch.org

I am currently coaching the pastors from Branch Life and Axis. Axis Church is in the core building phase. Read the following update from the pastor/planter, Jeremy Rose:

Hey Thew & Sojourn!

I am writing this monthly eUpdate from the front porch of the Bongo Java coffee shop in downtown Nashville across the street from Belmont University and ½ a mile from our home.

Wow! SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED SINCE WE SENT THE LAST eUPDATE!

This eUpdate will cover details within the gospel, our family, The Axis Church and our prayer needs.

THE GOSPEL –
The apostle Paul announced the gospel in the following words:
“Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Notice four things as you read the passage above one more time:
1. The Gospel Explained: “Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you”
2. The Gospel Received: “which also you received, in which also you stand”
3. The Gospel Held Fast: “by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you”
4. The Gospel Rejected: “unless you believed in vain”

In light of this message from Paul, pray that…:
1. …we accurately explain the gospel to those who are followers, doubters and haters.
2. …the pure life changing gospel be received by the followers, doubters and haters.
3. …the followers learn to hold fast to the gospel and value Christ above all.
4. …those who hear the accurate gospel proclaimed not reject it or that those who say they agree with the gospel not believe in vain.

Please—personally—continue to consider these aspects of the gospel message - the most important message communicated on the face of the earth today and the key to finding and keeping true happiness and contentment both now and forever.

THE ROSE FAMILY –
· For starters, we found a nice home to rent in the city and have moved in.
· JJ and Bethany have started school and are jumping right in to the routine.
· The Axis Church is transforming into something beautiful—this requires more time and attention on my part. Pray for me as I pastor and lead this group of missionaries in Nashville.
· With the extra time that I need to spend on/with The Axis Church, I have decided to step back from my LifeWay Research position. LifeWay Research has been such an integral part of the early life of The Axis Church and I will always remember how God used those I worked with there to encourage me along the way.
· One of JJ’s friends who rides the bus with him told JJ that his daddy doesn’t live with him because “he is in jail.” There are lots of opportunities here to minister the good news of the gospel in Nashville.
· We have a contract on our house! We should be able to close late September or early October! The bad news is that we have to take $7000 to closing…the good news is that God provided the $7000 miraculously! God is Good!! God continuously increases our faith and never ceases to amaze us!

THE AXIS –
· We have entered into Phase II of our Core Group training. This phase will focus on training the core members in the gospel and evangelism. During this phase we will continually seek clear definitions of familiar terms (e.g., church, disciple, success, etc.).
· >>NOTICE<< For those of you who give financially to The Axis Church, please you’re your support to the following address (the Ups Store moved).
2817 West End Ave
Suite 126-147
Nashville, TN 37203
· Within the next two weeks you will be able to donate your monthly contribution by using our online eGive link—if you choose to do so. This expedites the mailing and the waiting on your part—just a thought. I will let you know when it becomes available.
· Please check out the new website that someone gave to The Axis Church.

PRAYER NEEDS —

* Pray that I will continue to pastor our family and lovingly/patiently teach Jill, JJ, Bethany & Caleb the gospel every day.
* Pray for the closing of our home in Harrisburg, NC.
* Pray for our funding needs.
* Pray for the God-haters and the God-doubters that live in Nashville. Pray that they will already be opening themselves up to the great news of the gospel that we will proclaim and live.
* Pray for me as I continue to minister at Immanuel along side Ray.
* Pray for all The Axis families in transition and those seeking employment in Nashville.
* Pray for me as I lead the Axis towards the vision God has given me.

We are so thankful for your prayers. They are making a HUGE impact in the life of our church. Please continue this. Your prayers are making a big difference.

We are so very thankful for the funds that are given to The Axis Church. If you are one who is giving to our vision, thank you. If you are not yet giving, please consider helping. These are EXTREMELY helpful! Every gift helps.
Thank you very much!!!

Grace to you,
Jeremy
