Here is an update from Kelli Dees. She finishes up her time in Spain next month. Pray for her to finish and transition well.

Hi Sojourners -
I just have to share how proud I am of all of you! I recently had a great conversation with your hard core “Triathlon” Cindy Martin. In fact, she is the process of preparing this week for her big race. What a blessing to hear from her and the Thew family about Sojourn’s growth and impact the lives of many in Huntsville! You all have faced different challenges and adversities, and you have continued to remain strong. The city is taking notice, and more importantly the Lord is honored… Keep encouraging the believers and touching the lives of your neighbors!
Another thought for you - Have you had mixed emotions when returning from a great trip with your friends or family? You remember the incredible time that you had on the trip - the conversations, the memories, the scenery and the lives that were impacted, and you know the whole aspect of the trip will only be a memory. On the other hand, you are excited about sharing about your trip with your loved ones when you pull into the driveway. These are some of the feelings I am experiencing as I am completing my term in May. I am looking forward to seeing family/friends at home, but I know I will desperately miss my friends here. As I prepare to finish strong, please be in prayer for dynamic, spiritual conversations with each one of my closest Spanish friends this month. Also, that the Lord would provide incredible Christians to cross paths with these friends to continue to water their hearts after I leave and follow God’s next step in my life.
I have shared a couple of updates on key conversations I have had this month…
1. I had a wonderful time of meeting with my friend Cris – it was a great to encourage him and challenge him to keep reading the word. He shared with me this week that he had an excellent week at school, and he truly has learned from many of the mistakes he has made in the past.
2. I celebrated a birthday with my friend M – through the course of talking he shared that he believed in the son, but this was a being that was not important to his life. I had the opportunity to talk about the difference the son had made in mine, that the son was such a gentlemen who would never be pushy that he desired for each of us to know him personally if we would only let him. I shared about the pain that a person could experience living without him.
3. My friend R and I have continued to meet to read the word. Tonight, we talked about the passage of not worrying about tomorrow and putting our faith in the one that can change things. She shared that she had spent her birthday alone, and that no one remembered it at all. I felt so bad because I did not know it was her birthday, but I plan to go on a short trip with her this next weekend to celebrate.
Please ask the Lord for:
1. To work dynamically in the heart of Cris through further conversations I will have with him this month.
2. M’s heart to be open to accept the son as his personal Savior not just another spiritual being to believe in when needed.
3. R’s heart that she will put her trust in the one that can make all things possible.
Thank you for everything! Your supplication is making a huge impact!
Kelli
