John Peck from the Huntsville Times wrote a 16Aug07 story entitled, “City’s trails a 20-year effort.” In it he quotes National Geographic Adventure magazine’s September 2007 edition saying that Huntsville is one of America’s “top adventure towns.”

Peck said, “National Geographic Adventure, which claims 2.3 million readers, chose Huntsville in a state-by-state survey of areas where adventure opportunities abound. The magazine hit the newsstands Tuesday. Hiking and mountain biking trails were singled out in a brief summation of Huntsville’s selection.”

At the National Geographic Adventure Website, you find the following list. Note Huntsville under “Top Cities.”
