Joanna Broad is the Production Manager of The Arts Council in Huntsville. They still have availability for chairmen and other volunteers for Panoply 2007. The dates are: April 27-29, 2007. Read the following from her:

We are still looking for volunteer chairmen for Panoply! Chairmen simply attend meetings and help plan their respective activity. They also recruit volunteers in some cases. We could not produce the festival without our Chairmen!

I wanted to let you know about some open slots. If you or someone you know would like to get involved, please let me know as soon as possible. This is a great way to get out in the arts community!

Four of our Kid’s Art Yard activities still need Chairmen. They are:

Crazy Hats- Become your own Mad Hatter by inventing your own crazy hat creation. Choose a design to produce your paper hat, and then decorate it by using items such as streamers, sequins, foam cutouts and jewels. New to Panoply in 2004, this is still a very popular activity.

Face Painting- Children can become a tiger, Blues Clues, a bunny, or choose from an array of designs. This is one of the more popular activities in the Kid’s Art Yard as it appeals to the child of all ages.

Panoply Percussion- Children will create and decorate different size drums and other percussion instruments using basic materials such as oatmeal containers and paper towel tubes. Sure to be a success with the Get Rhythm Program.

Panoply Posies- Put your artistic green thumb to work as you create your very own secret garden at Panoply. With the use of some coffee filters, markers and pipe cleaners, you can create your own pocket full of posies!

The other HUGE and very important slot available is with our Volunteer Hospitality committee. With this committee, two chairmen are needed to coordinate the meals for 200 volunteer chairmen. These meals usually consist of many donated items from local restaurants and businesses. It is a fairly simple job, it’s just time consuming. And FUN!

Please pass this on to anyone within the church who might be interested in volunteering with these committees. I can send more detailed information (job descriptions, upcoming meetings, etc.).

We look forward to this event every year. I want some Gator!

Joanna has done a great job in the past and I know she’s going to do good again this year.
