Check out this new movie attacking the credulity of classical Christianity.
’Bowling for Columbine did it to the gun culture. Super Size Me did it to fast food. Now The God Who Wasn’t There does it to religion. Holding modern Christianity up to a bright spotlight, this bold and often hilarious new film asks the questions few dare to ask. Your guide through the world of Christendom is former fundamentalist Brian Flemming, joined by such luminaries as Jesus Seminar fellow Robert M. Price, professor Richard Dawkins, author Sam Harris and historian Richard Carrier. See the movie the Los Angeles Times calls “provocative - to put it mildly.” Hold on to your faith. It’s in for a bumpy ride.’
An outstanding response to this kind of sloppy National Enquirer journalism is the book Reinventing Jesus. Check out the reviews of this book.
“knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.” (2 Pet 3:3-6)

I saw that movie at the Flying Monkey around a year ago. After, there was a Q&A with the state director of an atheist society. I enjoyed the dialogue.
The movie was pretty weak as it leaned too heavily on anecdote. Gotta love the Monkey.

I gotta say that is the first time I have ever heard of a preacher going to the Flying Monkey…

Ed Komoszewski, one of the authors of the book Reinventing Jesus, powerfully defends the Deity of Christ in Philippians 2 in this video. Wow - he’s far more energetic in person than in his gifted writing.
J. Ed Komoszewski is a gifted apologist who has worked for several years as the Director of Research for Josh McDowell Ministries and teaches part-time at Northwestern College. I emphathize with him - Ed is suffering from severe heart problems; although he is getting good medical care, his condition has worsened.
